I'm Such a Dweeb

Hello! *grins sheepishly*
Don't look at me like that! I did not mean to be away so long!

I'm still trying to handle all of this new-found freedom that's related to not being in school. It's incredibly weird and freeing.
Also, a little off topic and flying in all the way from north wind,...I named my kitty!!!!!!!
With Rienna's help, we've named him "Bandito". Cute, I know.
Why Bandito? Because of twenty one pilots, of course! And it may help that he's black and white striped and looks like a bandit. I'm very original in this way. *blinks innocently*

A really quick newsflash because I have to meet Rienna in ten minutes for a run.
Rienna and I are going to be in a race at the end of this month. It's just a mile race, but the loser has to make the winner a cake! I totally intend on winning this! I mean a whole cake to myself!?! So much chocolate, so much power! Muhahahaha!!!!
*clears throat* *blushes* Oh.... You're still here?
Quick! Forget you ever heard my evil plans.
*peaks outside of window* Streets are clear. Phew. I don't think anyone heard me. And you won't tell anyone, right?
 Good.

Okay, gotta go. And remember, not a word! Okay?

Oops.....

Well, this is embarrassing,...it seems I haven't posted since...May? Yikes!
I really don't have much of an excuse.
I mean, Rienna and I did go on a week-long trip to Pennsylvania, but that doesn't constitute for this extended hiatus. (Sorry, TOP fans...)

This post will be short, not because I don't have a lot to say, but because most of it you'd find boring and inconsequential (dang! Where are these big words coming from?).
Anyways....What have I been up to?

Well....I have applied to a few colleges. Not sure what I want to do exactly, most likely something to do with music. Possibly teach piano.
I've been working on my writing with Rienna and getting into impossible shenanigans with her too!

Last month we joined a swim class that meets early in the morning (I have no idea why we chose the early morning class! There was a night class...).
I suppose it's been a good discipline, because I'm really not much of an early morning person. That's Rienna.
Also, I'm slightly terrified on the pool. The 'pool', you say? Not the ocean?
Yes. The pool. Explanation: the pool, early in the morning or late at night, or really anytime, resembles an epic place for a drowning.
My imagination tends to run haywire and I keep imagining the Titanic.
 Hold a second! The Titanic?
Yes. The Titanic had swimming pools too and now they're on the bottom of the sea.
Do you see where this is going?
Swimming pools>Titanic>bottom of ocean>fear of pools>fear of drowning.

The first day, I had a major panic attack before I even got close to the pool, which is weird for me, because I can't remember the last time, bar the bee incident, that I got a panic attack, but this just drew it from me like a vampire sucking blood from an unwilling victim.
 (Okay....so weird analogy....moving on!)
I almost ran away, and I would have, if not for Rienna.

 Rienna. Gosh, I love her.
Sincerely, the most kind, thoughtful, loving person, and she's my friend! How did this happen?
Rienna was able to calm me down and, guys,...I actually got in the water! And, I swam!
I mean, I actually did it!
I was terrified, but I did it!

Also, speaking of Rienna, I'm supposed to go and meet with her at 9:00 today, so I better go and make sure kitty (really gotta give that little guys a name...) and Casey Jr.  aren't fighting or, worse....kitty isn't trying to eat Casey Jr...

 Talk to you all later!

Where I Explain Why I Haven't Posted in Forever

Good Morning!

 *yawn*  Excuse me.

O my....it's been ages since I wrote anything on here.
 My apologies.

 Things have been, well,...crazy?

For one, I'm a senior this year, so I'm trying to finish up my subjects by the end of May so I can be all ready for a Summer with Rienna!

I'm home-schooled, but this doesn't take away from the fact that I still have a huge load of school work that sometimes takes me until 3 or 4 to finish. Sometimes longer.

To give you a small picture of what a normal school day looks like for me I'll attempt to write down a sketch of my schedule. (lol. Sketch of my schedule....)

School Day Model:

6:00-7:00 AM : Get up/Take a shower/Have devotions/Eat

7:00-8:00 AM- Bible Study with my Mom. Sometimes Rienna and/or my Dad joins in when he's home.

8:00-9:00 AM- British Literature (This is fun! My mom and I read out loud and take different characters' parts (if it's Shakespeare), and do different voices.)

9:00-10:00 AM-Algebra 2 (My least favorite subject.)

10:00-11:00 AM-Writing! (My favorite subject. A couple times a week are put aside for creative writing with Rienna.)

11:00-12:00 PM- Art (We've done watercolors, frescoes, murals, pencil/charcoal drawings, oil paints....I'm not all that good, but it's fun. Plus it's a welcome break after a grueling morning.)

12:00-1:00 PM-Lunch time. (Sometimes we listen to an audiobook or talk about different things.)

1:00-2:00 PM- Science. (I'm taking Geology right now. It's super fun!)

2:00-3:00 PM-History (Studying the Victorian Era right now.)

3:00-4:00 PM-P.E. (Running, Hula-Hoop contest, Rock Climbing at the gym,  riding bikes...)

4:00-5:00 PM- Foreign Language. (Latin. I'm not kidding.) Also twice a week this time is split 50/50 with a Logic course.

5:00-6:00 PM-Dinner Time! (Twice a week I'm required to prepare dinner as part of a home-economics curriculum.)

6:00-7:00 PM- Finish up Dinner and clean up.

7:00-7:30 PM-After dinner walk.

7:30-9:00 PM-Either games, movie, or more writing and other shenanigans if Rienna is over.

9:00-9:30 PM-All electronics required to be off. Get ready for bed. I usually read a book or just talk with my mom or Rienna, if she's over.

9:30 PM-Good Night!

So, yeah...that's my schedule during the week.

 School's almost out!!!!

This brings me to what happened last week....Rienna might have told you that I went to the hospital, a week ago, today.

 Well,....it's true.

I was stung by a ton of bees while up in a tree that overlooks our drive-way.
I'd heard a bird up there and have seen a couple bringing twigs and odds and ends up there, so I thought they must have a nest, so I climbed up to investigate.

I heard a couple of bees up there, but I didn't think much of it. I've been stung before, but it was so long ago, and the only reaction was that my hand swelled slightly. I thought, well, they'd be fine as long as I didn't disturb them, they wouldn't bug me. (Okay, that pun was not intended.)

I'd gotten up the tree and was going out on the limb where I thought the bird's nest was, when I felt a small prick in my ankle.

I turned around in surprise and thought, I should probably get down.

Then another bee stung me, then another and another.

Honestly, they came out of nowhere.

I'm clambered down the tree as fast as possible, and tried to reach the house, but I must have blacked out because the next thing I knew, I was waking up in an ambulance with an oxygen mask pressed to my face.

Mom says that they had to do CPR several times because I kept passing out, but I don't remember much.

I just remember the hospital and a billion nurses hovering over me like a swarm of bees and feeling super claustrophobic and there was a weird smell.

Then someone kept jabbing me with something. (Rienna said it was probably an epi-pen or something like that.)

I just thought it was more bees.

Rienna was there too, and I think I really scared her because as soon as they let someone in that starchy white room, she would do nothing but make sure I was alive and responding.

They kept me there overnight and kept popping in at all hours asking me and my mom to sign things. Really, nurses have horrible bed-side manners.

The next day they let me go back home and said I had to take it easy and get lots of rest, that my system was still recuperating.

Yesterday was the first day that I felt normal and could actually run around and do things.

Today, Rienna and I are going to get together and hang out, perhaps go rock climbing or go to the local zoo or something like that.

Anything to take our minds off the scare of last Saturday and the attack of bees, which, by the way, came from a hive somewhere in the trees. (My mom's trying to get a service to come and take them away.)

One thing before I go: please, please, please, don't take your friends for granted. Treasure them.

Where I Talk About My Best Friend.....

Good Morning!

Can you guess what I'm watching?

Yup. "Singing in the Rain."

So I thought I'd post the "Good Morning" sequence so it can get stuck in your head as it obviously did mine. 😃

So, besides watching musicals, what have I been up to?

Well, about a week or so ago, my best friend, Rienna and I went for a weekend to the Grand Canyon! I'm sorry I have no pictures to show you, both of us don't have smart phones and Rienna's camera was mishandled and broke, so the only memories we have are the ones we keep in our heads. Bummer, I know, but we are planning on going back in a few months.

It was my first trip without my parents and now I really want to go on more. Don't get me wrong, my parents are awesome and I love hanging out with them, but my dad is really busy and away on business trips most of the time, so I rarely see him and my mom goes with him a lot now that I'm older and can take care of myself.

When she's home we have lots of fun. Last night we went for a girl's night out to the local nail salon and got our nails done and then went out to get ice cream at a Cold Stone Creamery and went home and popped in "My Fair Lady" with Audrey Hepburn, my mom's favorite actress.

So we, have fun. A lot of fun. But spending time with Rienna is different.

She's the best friend I didn't grow up with.

Rienna moved into our neighborhood about two years ago as a transfer student from out of state. I actually got to know her when she stayed with my family at my mom's insistence, while she waited for the rest of her stuff to arrive and while her apartment was being fixed. (Apparently, it had some horrible plumbing problem from the last tenant and it took months to fix.) 😣

It was a blessing in disguise though, because I got to know her pretty well in those few months, months that wouldn't have happened otherwise.

She's challenged me in a lot of ways, from testing my fear of heights, to motivating me to start running again and taking every opportunity when it arises.

Rienna genuinely loves people. She grew up in the mountains in a tightly knit community and I know she misses the people there that she grew up with. She keeps up a constant contact with them, sending letters, email and spending every spare minute on phone calls to those back home, but in all this, she always takes time for me.

And this is what makes, my friend, Rienna, the best. If you are ever fortunate to make her acquaintance-and I hope you get that chance one day-I know you'll fall in love with her just as much as I have.

A good friend is hard to find, but a best friend harder still.

I realize that pretty much my entire post has been about Rienna, but I think it's pretty reflective of me.  I've been thinking of her a lot lately and spending a whole lot of time with her and I always find it amazing that although she struggles with depression, anxiety and fear, she never lets them stand in the way of helping others.

She is a treasure, an inspiration and a constant source of encouragement.

She is Rienna and I couldn't live without her.

Update on Chaos and A Confession

Hello and Good Morning!

I feel like it's been ages since I've posted.

 I'm sorry.

Life has been chaotic, but in a good way.

My fren, Rienna and I have been hanging out a lot, going to endless parties (just with each other and our families), having late night game/movie nights and haunting bookstores.

Oh! And singing "Never Enough" from The Greatest Showman at the top of our lungs. Sorry if you are our neighbors reading this, unless of course you've enjoyed this movie as much as we obviously do.

With all these activities it has been hard to find time to write either a blog post or the next installment of our short story, but I promise we have been working on it.

Rienna has finished her part, so it's actually me that hasn't written her part.

 Guilty as charged....

So Rienna just came over and is pestering me to get off and write with her, so I'll talk to you later.

One more thing! If you have been following my fren, Trinity's blog http://www.fandomania21.blogspot.com/ , she has a new post up!

The link to her new post is here: http://fandomania21.blogspot.com/2018/03/just-little-while-longerpart-15.html .

If you haven't read the rest of her posts, I suggest you start with the first one as this is the fifteenth part of a short story that she is writing!

Anyways, talk to you all later. Have a great day!

A Bird, A Blog Post, A Visitor and Chaotic Me

Good Morning! *shushes self* Be quiet! You're gonna wake up the house again!

Oh hi there! I just thought it was me and Casey Jr. (that's my parakeet. The one that just decided to fly on my head. Yup. That one.

 Off Casey. Thank you.)

 Where was I?

 Oh yeah!

            Welcome to my house!

Sorry for the mess. Last night was chaotic. Rienna and I stayed up and watched way too much Doctor Who and played countless games of Apples to Apples. (That game is too much fun!)

I'm just gonna shift this pile *grabs pile of cards and dvds* over here. There. I promise I'll clean it up later.

So, I just got up about half an hour ago. I made some hot chocolate and there is plenty, so please help yourself.

There's mugs in the kitchen and mini marshmallows and whip cream in the fridge.

*Grabs several blankets and envelops self in a cocoon* *Sits back down at desk*

So, I'm just reading my friend's blog, because Rienna is still asleep and can't share it with me.

Anyways, I'm glad you stopped by. Happy Saturday!

 Sorry, got off track.

So, my friend's blog is http://www.fandomania21.blogspot.com/ . She writes fan fiction, mostly Twenty-One Pilots related as well as her own stuff. She's pretty talented.

My friend's name is Trinity and she is currently writing a story about a girl named Gladys who struggles with depression.

Her stories have some pretty dark stuff in them. Totally realistic, but not for the faint of heart.

Today's blog post was no exception. Horrible things have happened and now I'm waiting for Rienna to get up so I can talk the post over with her.

It's almost 8:00 a.m. so she should be up soon.

If this is one of those days that she sleeps in until 10:00 I might have to go over to her house and wake her up myself. I might go mad in the meantime.

So glad you stopped by or else I would have.

Alright, I'm getting off. Let's go make breakfast.

 Pancakes sound good, right?

Then if Rienna's not up, we can go over and get her up together.

 Deal?

Okay.

It's breakfast time!

My Rainy Day

It's raining cats and dogs today (well not really, that would be ridiculously hilarious). So, I'm stuck inside until it stops.

Hopefully,  Rienna will come over soon and we can do something, although knowing Rienna, it will most likely involve splashing in puddles until we're both soaked. (She's awesome that way.)

Until then, I guess I'll try to finish up that 1,000 piece puzzle, the one with the parakeets.

My mom is still sleeping, because it's like 7:43 in the morning and for some reason I'm up.

I guess I could catch up on homework, but it's President's Day. I want to do something fun! But until Rienna wakes up, I guess I'll have to pester my parakeet, Casey Jr. (I named him after the little engine in Dumbo. He's a yellow parakeet and my profile picture.)

Casey Jr. is sleeping in his cage right now, but I hear the pitter patter of his feet moving around, so I guess he's up, underneath that sheet.

I'm going downstairs to make some hot cocoa. Hopefully, we have marshmallows. If not, I may have to brave the rain and cold to go and get some.

Talk to you all later,

-EllieM

Introverted Ramblings

 Hello again.

So, let me give you a brief picture of my life. Brief, mind you.

I live in the city close to my best friend, Rienna. I've only moved about two times because of house problems (mold, fire, etc.).

When I was younger I had one good friend who I did everything with. She succumbed to illness when I was eleven and I didn't meet Rienna until I was about fifteen.

And now we are thick as thieves as the saying goes.

I'm home-schooled and have been since pre-school. I've played the piano since I was about eight and am planning on taking it in college when I'm finished with high-school.

I do not have a Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or any other social media account (although my Rienna has constantly pestered me to join her on Twitter. Who knows? One day I might).

I'm a recent convert to the Skeleton Clique. I started listening to Twenty-One Pilots after I met Rienna (The girl knows some good music, what can I say?).

I also love listening to classical music. (Dvorak is my favorite! I love his "New World Symphony.")

My favorite T.V. show is BBC's Doctor Who and my biggest accomplishment is passing my love of this show on to Rienna.

I like to write short stories, but so far I have nothing published. Up until recently, I haven't had the courage to share them to the world. (Rienna and I are working on a short story together which will be on her blog  soon.)

Okay. I'm freaking out because this is as much talking I've done all morning and it's only 9:10 am.

Perhaps I'll write more later.

-Thanks for listening to the ramblings of an introvert.

Introduction to an Introvert

So, as you might have guessed, I'm an introvert. Yes. Introvert. That's me.

My friends call me Ellie, so I guess you can too.

If you've been to my friend's blog RiennaB and read her first blog post you might notice that she has a sort of questionnaire titled "Comfy Questions." My friend's post

I'm going to answer those questions in this post so please bear with me.

 1. How do you drink your tea?
A: I like to drink my tea with a lot of honey and a little lemon, because...reasons. (Honey is delicious.)

2. Favorite dessert?
A: Umm...? Chocolate cake. Definitely chocolate cake.

3. Favorite season and why?
A: My favorite season is Fall because I love Thanksgiving and hanging out with good friends and family. (And by good friends, I mean Rienna, because...introverted.)

4. What cheers you up?
A: Rienna cheers me up. Oh! and Twenty One Pilots music. You make think this is weird, but their music means so much more than what it seems like. Listen closely.

5. Dogs or cats?
A: I personally love birds, but if I had to pick between dogs or cats? I really like dogs.

6. What's your dream holiday?
A: Going to the beach for a whole week (but a secluded beach) with Rienna.

7. How many kids do you want?
A: I'm not sure yet...I'll have to get back to you on this.

8. Favorite weather?
A: 75 degrees Farenheit and sunny.

9. What would your last meal be?
A: Sounds so morbid...but I guess it would be...macaroni and cheese (do not judge me. You've never had my mom's macaroni and cheese. Heaven...)

10. You can spend twenty-four hours anywhere, any year. Where do you choose?
A: Ancient Greece has always fascinated me, so I suppose I'd like to go there, particularly ancient Troy, if such a place existed.

11.  If you were a ghost, who or where would you haunt?
A: I'd haunt my friend, Rienna when she goes to a Twenty One Pilots concert. Why? I could be in a crowd without them seeing me and only Rienna would know I was there because she's Rienna.

12. What is your family ancestry?
A: I suspect my family has some English/Italian heritage but it's never been confirmed.

13. What scares you?
A: Crowds, and large spiders.

14. What are you most grateful for?
A: Rienna! She is the most awesome, caring friend anyone could ever have. I love her to pieces.

15. Dream job?
A: This is going to sound really weird, because technically, it's not real and isn't actually a job, but...since it's a dream job....I'd really like to be The Doctor's companion (Doctor Who, Doctor).

16. Do you believe in aliens?
A: Maybe....

17. Favorite sport?
A: I like running and rock climbing.

18. How do you relax after a long day?
A: I like to watch movies with Rienna and play musical duets with her.

19. If you could meet one historical figure, who would you choose and why?
A: Do Twenty One Pilots count as historical figures? I know there are two of them, but I can't imagine one without the other. I'd like to meet them and tell them what their music means to me.

20. If you had to be a teacher, what subject would you teach?
A: Um...my mom is my teacher and so...she's a really good teacher, by the way. She is teaching me piano and I really like it, so if I had to be a teacher, possibly....piano?

21. Describe your perfect day.
A: My perfect day would be spent with Rienna. We would probably go to the beach and accidentally run into Twenty One Pilots.

22. Describe yourself in a sentence.
A: "The Introverted Paradox."

23. Who makes you laugh the most?
A: Twenty One Pilots (have you ever seen their videos?) and Rienna.

24. What superpower would you choose?
A: Invisibility.

25. Favorite animal?
A: Starfish.

26. Biggest accomplishment?
A: Getting my friend (Rienna) into Doctor Who. Hehehe....

Here are three bonus points:

  • I'm homeschooled.
  • I hate bananas.
  • Once I spilled a bowl of chocolate cake mix all over myself. Tasted good, but those clothes were ruined. (I'm kind of clumsy sometimes.)
So this is me.

Hi!

I'm going now....

Bye!

*Disappears under blanket.*
